Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University

University History in Iran

This educational and research institution was established in 1974 as a non-profit educational center under the name Higher School of Agricultural Engineering, with the aim of offering higher education programs in agricultural sciences. At its inception, the institution admitted students in three academic disciplines: General Agriculture, Forestry & Rangeland, and Animal Science. In 1979, together with several other higher education institutions, it became one of the founding units of the University of Mazandaran, headquartered in Babolsar. Following the expansion of its educational facilities and academic capabilities, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and the Faculty of Natural Resources were officially approved as two independent faculties in late 1997, and they formally commenced their academic activities in the 1999–2000 academic year.
